What a life we lead as entertainers! Coombe Abbey is one amazing place! The fact that I get invited to come to venues like this is one huge perk to the job, let's face it! Originally a monastery in the 12th century it is steeped in history. Inside is a maze of stunning stone work and wood work garnished in medieval and historical artefacts. Oh, and it has a moat! Yep, a MOAT!
I was set to work the crowd of guests with my buddy Ravi, a great magician/pickpocket alongside stilt walkers and jugglers all provided by Daze Entertainment. It is safe to say a great night was had by all!

Private parties make up a small percentage of the events I perform at each year, however they are always personal and meaningful, plus you end up getting to know a lot of the people and you end up having loads of fun in a way you simply cannot do at a corporate event.
Sue's birthday was celebrated at Beaconsfield Golf Club, having always been a fan of golf it was the perfect venue for Sue and her friends and family. A bit of strolling magic to warm the guests up before the dinner was a great suggestion as it always helps get the guests in the mood. It was then down to me to provide the laughter and entertainment at the tables between the courses. I genuinely love parties like this one as it was large enough that I could entertain everyone individually (it won't work that well with very small groups 10 - 15 people) but also small enough that I could spend a decent amount of time at each table, making sure everyone got to see a good amount of unbelievable magic! Thank you Sue for getting in touch, I wish you and Bear all the very best! Botleys Mansion is a stunning venue in the heart of Surrey, perfect for the wow factor! And Rory and Georgina were two of the funnest couples I have had the pleasure of performing for this year! They had me along to provide entertainment during the drinks reception and for a short time during the wedding breakfast. I was joined in the wedding breakfast by the hugely talented Encore Entertainment, the best singing waiters I have seen.
Weddings are always great fun, but when the family and guests are in great spirits and are having an amazing time it makes these performances some of the most enjoyable performances for me ever. Thank you Rory and Georgina, I had a blast performing for you and your family, I hope they all loved it too! The Grocery Aid Summer Ball at the end of June 2017 was a great evening, very fun, packed with entertainment and lots of cool things to do.
Although you are a small cog in a huge wheel at events like these, all the small cogs that turn in unison come together to make the event what it is. With face painting and glitter provided by http://www.theglitterbox.co.uk, fun balloon antics with Lord Geoffey and my most favourite caricaturist providing incredible artwork , Sara of www.saralouise.com to top it all off, the evening was a fun one had by all! I had met Elinor at a corporate event one evening, some time afterwards I received an enquiry from her asking me if I were available to attend her wedding to perform some magic for her family and friends. I of course was more than happy to oblige, who can turn down a good wedding?!!
The wedding was in North Wales in a wonderful venue Pentre Mawr Country House which was the perfect setting for the day, we were also blessed with perfect weather. Everyone and everything looked great! The guests were amazing and fun, Elinor and Tom were lovely and hospitable and if you check out my instagram, https://www.instagram.com/unbelievablemagic/ some way down the feed you will see some videos of the venue and the tricky mirror that ended up fooling me! I received some lovely comments from Tom and Elinor after the day, I thought I'd share some of them with you here: A huge thank you from both of us and everyone else at the wedding last Saturday. The magic went down an absolute treat with young and old, and even the most cynical were blown away by the tricks you performed. We had a read through the messages on the deck of cards on the Sunday morning and they were interesting to say the least! We really appreciate you driving all the way up from Surrey to perform - for us it was completely worth it! - Elinor and Tom Thanks again to you both, I wish you a lifetime of happiness and health together. |
